As Q4 approaches, it appears that prices of cannabis across major markets have held fairly steady since they were evaluated in June 2018. Cannabis Dispensary and Leafbuyer, an online cannabis deals database, have partnered to share data of major Western markets’ average prices from Jan. 1, 2018 to Aug. 31, 2018.
With eight months of sales data, a clearer picture of where prices will settle in California's adult-use market is beginning to develop. Even given the shortage of flower in the state, prices for recreational product are still lower than neighboring Nevada’s. While Nevada’s prices are higher than California’s in all categories measured, the largest comparison is in ounces of recreational flower. In Nevada, the average price is $298, compared California’s average price of $178— a $120 difference.
