Names of Owners, Investors of R.I. Marijuana Cultivation Companies Made Public

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Gov. Gina Raimondo's administration on Tuesday released redacted documents listing the owners and investors in three new medical marijuana cultivation companies all expected to be based in Warwick.

The information comes a day after the state Department of Business Regulation posted online only the names of the companies that have been approved so far: Medici Products and Solutions Inc; OSCC, LLC; and IDBP, LLC. In contrast, Massachusetts makes the applications of any party seeking a license for a medical marijuana dispensary available online with some redactions.

After additional requests from The Providence Journal, the state provided the names of those behind the budding industry, including John M. Rogue, of Warren, and Christopher E. Roy, of Cumberland - the co-owners of Medici who are also vying for a dispensary in Massachusetts under the name Hope, Heal, Health, Inc.

But the state declined to release the percentage each person owns in the operations and the amount of any loans supporting the companies, calling it protected financial information. The state also would not release the exact locations of any of the cultivators, many of which will be the state's first licensed commercial marijuana grows.
