61 Percent of Wisconsin Voters Favor Marijuana Legalization, Per MU Law Poll

The poll asked whether voters would like to see marijuana regulated in the same way as alcohol.

MILWAUKEE -- In the newest Marquette Law poll, 61 percent of registered voters in Wisconsin are in favor of legalizing marijuana and allowing it to be regulated like alcohol.

Recreational marijuana is currently legal in 9 U.S. states: California, Oregon, Nevada, Alaska. Washington, Colorado, Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine. Medical marijuana is legal in 30 U.S. states. 

Gov. Scott Walker has openly opposed the legalization of weed, calling it a "gateway drug."
