Leonard Marshall, NFL Super Bowl Champion, CTE Advocate and Entrepreneur to Keynote Cannabis World Congress in NY


NY Giants & New York Jets All Star Defensive Lineman to Talk about CTE, Building Brands, and Overcoming Adversity

[Press Release] (Paramus, NJ, April 2016) — Providing personal insight as a successful business entrepreneur and former champion NFL player with CTE symptoms, Leonard A. Marshall, Jr., will be an enlightening Keynote speaker at the Cannabis World Congress & Business Exposition, (CWCBExpo), at the Javits Center in New York.  Taking place June 15-17, 2016, CWCBExpo NY is the leading trade show and conference for the medical marijuana and legalized cannabis industry.  
 
Marshall’s Keynote on Thursday, June 16, will precede the all-star thought-leadership panel on “CTE, Concussions and CBD,” which he will also moderate.   As a successful athlete, businessman, medical marijuana business investor, philanthropist and family man, Marshall will inspire CWCBExpo attendees on what it takes to overcome challenges and obstacles to succeed.

As a NFL Defensive Lineman for twelve seasons, Marshall played for the New York Giants, New York Jets and Washington Redskins. During his playing career Leonard was on two Super Bowl Championship teams, was selected to appear in three Pro Bowls and was named All NFL twice.  
 
Marshall’s business achievements include the founding of Pro Star Athletics, one of the largest sports licensed apparel manufacturing companies of the 1990’s. The Company was eventually sold to International Apparel Manufactures Group of New York.  He also owned and managed The Marshall and Fox Sports Asset Management Group (A Division of Barron Chase Securities) and was the CEO and Owner of Capital Source Mortgage, a licensed Correspondent Mortgage Lending Institution based in Boca Raton Florida.
 
Marshall is currently the Director of Strategic Initiatives/Brand Ambassador for the publicly traded Original SoupMan, Inc., and Managing Partner of Playbook Solutions Group Advisors, LLC, a $50 million franchise income fund. 
 
His educational background includes receiving his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University (LSU) and a Masters Degree from Seton Hall University in Business Finance.  Marshall has also served as a Professor in the area of Finance and Sports Management at Seton Hall University, Stillman School of Business.
 
Marshall’s philanthropic endeavors includes co-founding the Brain Unity Trust, a non-profit educating children, parents, schools, and organizations about the proper prevention, identification and management for concussions and football safety.
