After months of confusion over the legality of cannabidiol oil and fear over a potential crackdown on the product, a plan to legalize the substance in Indiana is moving forward.
A Senate committee voted 7-2 Tuesday to legalize CBD oil as long as the product contains less than 0.3 percent of THC, the main active ingredient in marijuana. Originally the committee was considering a bill that would require products to contain no THC, a concept backed by Gov. Eric Holcomb.
Senate Bill 52 now heads to the Senate floor.
