Maui-based Pharmlabs Hawaii LLC is the state’s second laboratory to be given the greenlight to begin testing for medical cannabis, according to the Hawaii State Department of Health, which oversees the state’s medical marijuana program.
The department said it granted the lab a provisional certification after it passed its final on-site inspection.

Pharmlabs Hawaii joins Oahu-based Steep Hill Hawaii as the state’s two medical marijuana testing labs.
The DOH said it expects a third lab, Oahu-based Aeos Labs, which is operated by Clinical Labs of Hawaii, to be ready for an on-site inspection by January.
