[Press release] Étienne Fontán, co-owner and vice president of the Berkeley Patients Group, will be addressing attendees at Cannabis 2017: Cultivation Conference during his keynote session: 20 Years in the Making – A Unique Perspective on the Past, Present and Future of the Cannabis Industry.
In this special keynote event, Fontán will share his unique perspective on the industry he has been involved in for more than 20 years in various capacities – as a cultivator, dispensary owner and director, advocate and activist, and more. Fontán has watched the industry take shape from a point where no one expected to see serious reform in their lifetime to becoming the fastest-growing industry in the country, and from an unregulated world to the highly regulated world that continues to develop around us.
Still, many challenges and risks exist, and Fontán recently experienced a legal battle with the federal government that threatened to shut down Berkeley Patients Group – the oldest medical dispensary in the nation. He also has been instrumental in changes of how dispensaries work with cultivators, and will offer guidance to growers about developing successful partnerships with dispensaries.
The session will take place on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 9:30 a.m-10:30 a.m. For more information on this session and the rest of the lineup, visit www.cannabiscultivationconference.com
