Ohio © Cannabis Business Times | CannabisBusinessTimes.com About the Data: Issue 2 (An Act to Control and Regulate Adult-Use Cannabis) permits municipal corporations to adopt ordinances, or a board of township trustees to adopt a resolution (by majority vote) “to prohibit or limit the number of adult-use cannabis operators permitted under the act within the municipal corporation or within the unincorporated territory of the township, respectively." The act also permits medical cannabis businesses to operate in the state’s adult-use market, “but municipalities can vote to prohibit that operation within 120 days of the adult-use license being issued.” While many municipalities in this newly legal adult-use market are still working through their regulations, the state does not track those that adopt ordinances or resolutions to prohibit or limit adult-use cannabis business, according to Jamie Crawford, public information officer for the Ohio Department of Commerce; so, no information is available nor will be unless the state begins tracking this data.
