The Top 10 Best-Selling Flower Strains in California in 2023

Blue Dream is widely known as a popular cannabis cultivar. It's nearly a household name at this point.

Last year, Blue Dream was the No. 4 best-selling flower strain in California, behind Wedding Cake, Gelato, and Cookies' own Cereal Milk.

This year, the titan stands alone at the top of the list with a commanding lead. More than $91 million worth of Blue Dream flower was sold in California this year. That's almost double the No. 2 strain, Gelato. 

Here's how the rest of the top-10 list played out this year:

California remains something of a tastemaker in the broader U.S. cannabis market, so expect to see Blue Dream, Gelato, et. al., remaining high on the list of best-sellers from sea to shining sea in the years to come.

According to Leafly: "Blue Dream is a sativa-dominant hybrid marijuana strain made by crossing Blueberry with Haze. This strain produces a balanced high, along with effects such as cerebral stimulation and full-body relaxation. Blue Dream is 18% THC but has a low CBD percentage, making this potent strain a fan favorite of both novice and veteran cannabis consumers."
