Three more South Bay cities have decided against allowing commercial cannabis when it becomes legal statewide in January, but only temporarily so they can maintain local control.
Torrance, Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach each passed ordinances Tuesday banning recreational marijuana dispensaries, manufacturing operations and delivery services, opting instead to wait and see how the state and other cities approach regulations.

The bans follow similar moves in Gardena, Inglewood, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach and Rancho Palos Verdes in recent months.
Other cities, such as Carson and El Segundo, will take it up in coming weeks.
Carson voters already approved city taxes on the sale and cultivation of cannabis, but have not yet agreed to allow any businesses inside city limits.
