LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas is now accepting applications for licenses to operate medical-marijuana dispensaries and cultivation facilities.
The state Department of Finance and Administration said in a news release its Alcoholic Beverage Control Division began accepting applications Friday. The application period will run through Sept. 18.

Arkansans voted in November to approve a constitutional amendment legalizing the purchase, possession and use of marijuana to treat certain medical conditions. The amendment originally required the state to begin accepting applications no later than June 1, but the Legislature voted to change the deadline to July 1.
