Alaska’s Marijuana Control Board has published proposed rules for cannabis cafes, and public comments are requested in support of allowing adults to consume marijuana at regulated establishments, according to an email to constituents from Tim Hinterberger, Chairman of the Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol.
The current proposal allows cannabis flowers to be purchased and consumed on-site, one gram at a time. Cannabis edibles and food that does not contain cannabis could also be available, but concentrates would not be available. Another addition to the rules would ensure that cannabis café workers are not exposed to marijuana smoke while on duty.
Comments can be submitted by email to [email protected] or by regular mail, as instructed on the state’s public notice. The deadline for public input is 4:30 p.m. on October 27, and those interested in submitting comments are strongly encouraged to do so early to allow the board members time to review and consider submissions.
