New York Senator Liz Krueger, a long-time proponent for marijuana reform, has once against introduced the“Marihuana Regulation and Taxation Act”, a bill that would legalize recreational marijuana in the Empire State.
Krueger filed the same bill last year, and that bill died a quiet death in New York’s Senate. However, with medical marijuana legal in New York and a year after Colorado has proved legal weed works, Krueger will try to dethrone New York’s prohibitionists in office and free up the plant for New Yorkers.
And the bill’s impact would be huge, as marijuana remains a taboo yet very popular substance in New York.
