TUCSON -- Those in favor of recreational marijuana in Arizona have different ideas on how to get it done, but they all agree it must be sooner than later.

In 2016, voters rejected Proposition 205, by more than 60,000 votes. It would have legalized recreational cannabis statewide.

Tucson freshman lawmaker Rep. Todd Clodfelter and Rep. Mark Cardenas of Phoenix want to put the question in front of voters again.

"It's not so much my concept of legalization is my preference but it's a common sense thing to do," Clodfelter said. "If we don't legalize it through the legislature, we have limited our ability to manage the outcome if it comes through a citizens initiative."
