Kentucky State Sen. Dan Seum introduced an adult-use marijuana today, one week after counterparts in the Kentucky House of Representatives introduced a medical marijuana bill.
The cornerstones of Seum's argument, as he's laid out before, are the estimated 15,000 cannabis-industry jobs that Kentucky could see and the estimated $100 million in new state revenue. Seum hopes to funnel some of that money toward Kentucky's pension system, according to WDRB reporter Lawrence Smith.
“We've got a desperate situation in Frankfort over the pension issue,” Seum said last fall. "Colorado is really knocking down some good money on that [regulated marijuana market]."
