Senate President Peter Courtney has created a special Senate committee aimed at moving a medical marijuana bill to the Senate floor.
The move comes after a joint committee that was formed to create laws for Oregon's new marijuana landscape failed to move a medical marijuana bill.
The five-person committee is chairwoman Sen. Ginny Burdick, D-Portland, Sen. Ted Ferrioli, R-John Day, Sen. Floyd Prozanski, D-Eugene, Sen. Lee Beyer, D-Springfield and Sen. Jeff Kruse, R-Roseburg.
