In short, these bills would change the punishment for possession of one ounce or less of marijuana in Texas. While still a criminal offense, the punishment would be reduced to a fine of up to $100, and individuals would not be arrested nor jailed for possession of small amounts of marijuana.

The offense would not generate a criminal record that would follow a person for life and potentially jeopardize employment prospects, housing and educational opportunities.

Members of Operation Grow4Vets, as well as all other American heroes and their supporters, are encouraged to meet Roger Martin at the State Capitol in Austin this Wednesday, April 8th. Advocates will begin gathering at 11 AM, in room E2.018.

The hearing is expected to begin in the early afternoon and run into the evening.
