Editor's Note: I can see the benefits of having doctors involved in medical marijuana dispensaries, but it seems the dilemma is if the doctors stand to profit from the sale of the drug–a no-no.
CHICAGOÂ – At least three doctors are listed in records as being involved with medical marijuana businesses in Illinois.
The businesses are approved to open dispensaries or cultivation centers in Chicago, the Rockford area and the area near East St. Louis, The Chicago Sun-Times (http://bit.ly/1Lz8MMk ) reports
Medical marijuana dispensaries aren't allowed to let doctors hold an economic interest if the doctor recommends the treatment to patients. The doctor also can't partner or have a profit-sharing agreement with another doctor that recommends medical marijuana.
