Group Asks Arkansas Supreme Court to Block MMJ Ballot Measure


LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A group against the legalization of medical marijuana asks Arkansas' highest court to block a proposal from appearing on the November ballot.

Arkansans Against Legalized Marijuana, headed by Arkansas Surgeon General Greg Bledsoe, says the wording of the Arkansas Medical Cannabis Act is misleading and leaves out key information.

Bledsoe says, "this legislation is about classifying marijuana as medicine and labeling marijuana users as patients and what that does, in the process of this legislation, it binds the hands of the employers in the hiring and firing of people using marijuana."
