Gov. Steve Sisolak has signed a bill to shed light on the "pot-repenuers" fertilizing Nevada's fast-growing recreational marijuana industry.
Senate Bill 32 took effect immediately after a Friday afternoon signing ceremony in Sisolak’s office, where the Democratic governor praised it as a major step toward ensuring booming pot businesses don’t fall victim to the same type of corruption that once plagued Nevada’s casinos.
“I’m thrilled,” he told reporters after the ceremony. “I wish I could’ve signed it two months ago, but it’s here today, which is a good thing.
