FAIRBANKS — After months of public comment, multiple meetings and countless discussions, the Fairbanks City Council will vote on cannabis regulations during its meeting 7 p.m. Monday.
Three ordinances — the original and two new substitutes — are available for the council to act on.
The two substitutes — one proposed by council members Jerry Cleworth and June Rogers, the other introduced by council members David Pruhs and Valerie Therrian — take opposite approaches to regulation.
Mayor Jim Matherly expects Monday’s meeting to be lively.
“I don’t want to say contentious because we get along very well but it’s going to be very involved,” he said via telephone Friday.
