Gov. Eddie Calvo on Tuesday signed a law that allows qualified patients and their eligible caregivers to grow their own medical marijuana until the government’s medical cannabis program is established.
Sen. Louise Muna's Bill 302 became law five days after senators passed it by a vote of 8-3.

Guam voters approved medical marijuana in 2014, but the program has yet to get off the ground.
The new law allows patients and caregivers to obtain a grower’s permit from the Department of Public Health and Social Services, allowing them to cultivate and possess as many as six flowering plants and 12 juvenile plants at a time.
