2017 has seen the rollout of countless state cannabis laws, from California’s passage of a framework to regulate its medical and adult-use markets to Vermont’s historic passage of a recreational legalization bill without a referendum (though later vetoed by the state’s governor). This year has also been a successful one for many cultivators, with Canada’s Aurora Cannabis breaking ground on a new 800,000-sq.-ft. facility and Washington’s Grow Op Farms finding success in the marketplace with boutique cannabis on a big scale.
