CBT team ramping up for the launch of the Cannabis Business Times print magazine

Kyle Brown
CLEVELAND, OHIO—Cannabis Business Times (CBT), a leading business-to-business media brand serving businesses in the legal cannabis industry, Monday announced the appointment of Kyle Brown to the newly created position of managing editor. Brown will manage production for CBT’s forthcoming print magazine, write features and news articles for CBT magazine, CannabisBusinessTimes.com and the brand’s weekly e-mail newsletter, as well as handle various other editorial responsibilities for the popular media brand.
Brown has worked at CBT’s parent company, Cleveland-based GIE Media Inc., since 2011, when he joined as an associate editor for both Snow Magazine and Golf Course Industry (GCI) magazine. Most recently, he was the digital content editor for GCI, and prior to that, he held editorial positions with several other b-to-b publications.
“I always enjoyed exploring and covering the science and legal issues surrounding the turf industry, as well as the personal stories of the professionals involved,” says Brown. “I’m really excited to be able to use my experience in the green industry to do the same for the legal cannabis industry in my new position with Cannabis Business Times.”
“We are thrilled to have Kyle join the CBT team. His extensive journalistic and editing experience will be a tremendous asset to CBT, especially as we prepare to supplement our rapidly growing digital presence with our premier print magazine this fall,” says CBT Editor Noelle Skodzinski. “His experience with other horticulture industries also will be an asset, as will his intelligence and outgoing personality. We’re going to do great work together serving this exciting industry.”
CBT Group Publisher Jim Gilbride—who also oversees several other GIE Media publications (including Greenhouse Management, Garden Center, Produce Grower and Nursery Management)—comments, “Kyle has been a key asset to GIE Media, Inc. for more than four years, and his talents are exactly what is needed to help drive our CBT brand to a leadership position in this exploding market. His experience and talent will enable him to adapt quickly to his new role as we are preparing for our print magazine launch. Kyle also will enable us to provide even more quality content to our readers across both print and digital platforms.”
