Newly Formed Cannabis Canada Council Names New Board, Appoints Executive Director

Allan Rewak was named executive director of the Cannabis Canada Council.

With a legal adult-use market expected to be operating by mid- to late summer, the Cannabis Canada Association (CCA), Canadian Medical Cannabis Council (CMCC) and Canopy Growth Corp. have formed a "single national industry association for the sector," the Cannabis Canada Council.

Allan Rewak was named executive director. “I am honored and humbled to have been chosen as the Executive Director of C3," he said in a public statement. "The legal Cannabis sector offers unparalleled economic and social opportunity for Canadians and the Cannabis Canada Council is ready to lead the way to a brighter future for all citizens of this incredible country.”

Helmed by industry leaders from a number of prominent Canadian cannabis producers, the board will divide its efforts between adult-use and medical marijuana needs.

The Cannabis Canada Council board will include:
