NuLeaf’s “Ganga and Glam” event at its Las Vegas dispensary on Feb. 15 connected customers with top female cannabis influencers and provided them with unique in-store experiences not typically found at dispensaries.
“Ganga and Glam is an in-store, submersive experience that connects to our customers and definitely our female clientele,” said NuLeaf Director of Marketing JC Coats. “It’s just letting people know that our consumer base is wide and broad and includes everyone, and we love the movement that’s going on with women and marijuana right now, and we just wanted to touch on that and add some value for our customers.”
The two-hour event included cannabis vendors; food trucks; makeup touchups and eyelash applications from Glam Sophisticated; entertainment from DJ Crykit; a popup shop from Crykit’s Playhouse offering unique, vintage items; and flash sales on Aces Extracts.
“It’s a whole experience when you come to the store, other than just a transactional experience,” Coats said.
Coats estimates that the event brought in 100-150 people, resulting in a definite sales spike for the dispensary. NuLeaf aims to connect with its customers through events and create a sense of community, Coats said. It has held in-store events for nearly a year. Its flagship event, “NuLeaf Signature Event Series,” is held monthly and showcases Nevada’s cannabis products.
“Ganga and Glam” will be held monthly going forward as well, Coats said. The dispensary will dedicate one evening every two weeks for an in-store event, and come spring, NuLeaf will explore daytime events that can be held outside, he added.
“We’ll get female influencers in the community, not just for marijuana, but people who are in other industries like fashion or makeup or music that maybe also use cannabis and get those people involved,” Coats said.
NuLeaf is a vertically integrated brand with two locations (Las Vegas and Incline Village, Lake Tahoe). Its owners came from California’s Berkeley Patients Group, one of the country’s oldest dispensaries, which opened in 1999. They launched the NuLeaf brand roughly two years ago and carry a variety of products.
“We like to say we have the largest selection currently,” Coats said. “We’re carrying other people’s products, so we carry an array of products—everything from CBD dog treats to bath bombs, Synergy topical, to the best flowers and extracts that are available.”
