With bands, balloons and
leis, Anne Arundel County’s second medical marijuana dispensary held its
grand opening to welcome the community Saturday.
Mana Supply’s celebration came two weeks after
the Edgewater location opened its doors in a former bank building on Solomons
Island Road.
“This is a festival for the community. A
family-friendly event to ease the stigma away from cannabis,” owner Christopher
Jensen said, while keeping an eye on last-minute preparations. “We and other
dispensaries are all working for our patients in Maryland.”
Jensen said he was considering getting into the business when an old friend and orthopedic surgeon told him he was amazed at the difference in his patients “when he was allowed to prescribe cannabinoids instead of opioids. That convinced me.”
