Maryland Medical Marijuana Dispensary Opens Its Doors With Community Festival

With bands, balloons and leis, Anne Arundel County’s second medical marijuana dispensary held its grand opening to welcome the community Saturday.

Mana Supply’s celebration came two weeks after the Edgewater location opened its doors in a former bank building on Solomons Island Road.

“This is a festival for the community. A family-friendly event to ease the stigma away from cannabis,” owner Christopher Jensen said, while keeping an eye on last-minute preparations. “We and other dispensaries are all working for our patients in Maryland.”

Jensen said he was considering getting into the business when an old friend and orthopedic surgeon told him he was amazed at the difference in his patients “when he was allowed to prescribe cannabinoids instead of opioids. That convinced me.”
