The Game is Changing for Environmental Control

Environmental control continues to be a critical factor in a cultivator’s success, for better and for worse.

Environmental control continues to be a critical factor in a cultivator’s success, for better and for worse. This year’s “State of the Growing Environment” report, conducted by Cannabis Business Times with support from Hawthorne Gardening Company, makes it clear that growers continue to experience detrimental plant disease while searching for the right temperature and humidity solution. In fact, pest and disease management and humidity control were ranked as the two greatest cultivation challenges among licensed cultivators, and 65% of respondents said they have experienced pest and disease issues in the past year. A holistic understanding of what leads to issues like these—and tools built with that in mind—is required to get us where we want to go as an industry.

That’s why Hawthorne has proudly partnered with Quest, a leading name in environmental control, to deliver the ultimate climate solution. The Quest IQ Series is an all-in-one HVAC + dehumidification system, engineered specifically to help balance the complex conditions of indoor growing facilities. With built-in redundancies, scalability and control, and exceptional efficiency, the Quest IQ Series is truly built for plants, not people, to help growers master their environments.

“To truly propel our industry forward, we must share those insights to help growers everywhere seize the opportunities of today and build the industry of tomorrow.”

Solving environmental control issues is also the reason our experienced team of biologists, scientists, engineers and growers dedicated so much time to researching and developing Hawthorne Airflow Mapping. This groundbreaking new service is designed to take the guesswork out of airflow management in indoor environments. For the first time, growers can leverage computational fluid dynamics—the same airflow modeling software used by NASA engineers to design space shuttles—to see data-backed computer renderings of airflow modeling projections for their spaces. Our goal with Hawthorne Airflow Mapping is to help growers design the ideal environments for their spaces with a custom solution designed to deliver results before changing a thing in their facilities.

Hawthorne is proud to support CBT’s “State of the Growing Environment” report for the second year in a row. While we believe in furthering the industry by gathering data and insights, that alone is not enough. To truly propel our industry forward, we must share those insights to help growers everywhere seize the opportunities of today and build the industry of tomorrow. Our goal is to empower growers with the information and tools they need to change the game.
