New Jersey’s six medical cannabis retailers may now add vape products to their shelves. With six more companies set to receive medical dispensary licenses on Nov. 1, the state’s cannabis industry is growing at a rapid clip.
The New Jersey Department of Health announced the news as part of its ongoing revisions to the state’s medical cannabis rules. Earlier this year, the department approved a plan to improve access to medical cannabis for the state’s more than 26,000 registered patients. (In March, the department added chronic pain and anxiety to the list of qualifying medical conditions, which helped to nearly double the number of registered patients under Gov. Phil Murphy’s administration.)

Curaleaf announced quickly that it would bring the first vape products to the state. “Receiving approval to launch these products is an important milestone in the progression of Curaleaf’s operations as well as in New Jersey’s medical cannabis program,” said George Schidlovsky, Curaleaf New Jersey’s president. “As the largest dispensary on the East Coast, serving hundreds of patients daily, Curaleaf has the resources and production capacity to reliably market and distribute new products that our patients depend on to live life well.”
