Michigan is one step closer to implementing legal sales of recreational marijuana.

The Marijuana Regulatory Agency issued emergency rules that would fully implement the marijuana proposal that Michigan voters approved in 2018.

The rules will provide local municipalities and prospective licensees with the information they need to decide how they want to participate in the industry. The MRA plans to start taking business applications Nov. 1.
