Vallejo, Calif., Planning Commission Approves Cannabis Cultivation in City

The city’s Planning Commission gave its blessing Monday night to allow cannabis cultivation, manufacturing and distribution in Vallejo.

The recommendation now moves forward to the Vallejo City Council for consideration next month.

The two-hour public hearing centered around commissioner questions regarding amending Title 16 of the Vallejo Municipal Code.

The amendments enable Vallejo’s 11 permit-holding medical marijuana dispensaries the ability to cultivate, distribute and manufacture cannabis in the city, should they desire to do so.

These activities would be limited to the planned development industrial, intensive use and intensive use-limited zones.
